Positivity

Every thought we think defines our future and the future of the world.  What we think we tend to speak it without realizing the influence that it may have on the other person. If someone offends us we try to offend them back, because we feel satisfied and happy.  But is this right?  Instead isn't it better to make them realise the mistake so that they don't behave the same way with others.  While most people agree that to you have to fight fire with fire, but is this always necessary? You can always use water.  Now the main question what is water,  I would say water is being positive.  All of us tend to be positive when we are strong when we are happy but when we are weak and hurt the positivity is gone.  The truth is, that is when we need our positivity the most.  Positive thoughts give rise to positive feelings which give rise to a positive future.

Positive thinking defined in Gandhiji's language is when someone slaps you on one cheek show them the other.  The result of it is not known but in our mind there is a positive thought. And it is said that a positive mind will be happy even in the worst situations.  He is one who can find an angel even inside a devil. And when you succeed in doing so you will be the happiest person alive.

This isn't an attempt to change the people around me but it is an attempt to influence or make the people think.  When you say something negative do realize that the people around you are also in the same negative mindset. When you can convey something positively then why use the wrong method. And yes we can't stop others from thinking negative but we sure can stop from negative thoughts being spread. Ask your inner self the truth because nothing good can ever be achieved by something negative.

Everyone comments on movies where Hinduism is targeted, protecting it and blaming another religion.  Why do u even have to think this way? Instead take the positive from these movies. If there isn't any positivity then let it go. Why the discussion?  I never understand why the things that are truly supposed to be appreciated are neglected and the things which have no reason or point of being discussed are hyped.

I have realized the power of positivity in my life.  And that is why I am able to say that the power of positivity is truly mesmerizing. I don't wish to change the world but I do wish to make people think and maybe affect a few people around me.  A person who is negative will find negativity on every single aspect even in the most purest thing existing called life.  On the other, a positive person will understand and find the tiniest bit positivity even in something as evil as war.  And it is left to you, to choose on which half we wish to belong to?

An Angel

Life is filled with unexpected twists. Some of them extremely difficult for us to digest. During these unfavorable situations our confidence, patience and self preservation are tampered. It is during these times that our mind is pessimistic. Even the smallest of worries cause great depression to the mind.

When I go through the dark phases of my life, everything around me made me diffident. It was like being caught in a well which went deeper and deeper. A time where even the closest of people hindered my trust. My spirits were low and circumstances exacerbated. When we isolate ourselves from the outside world and feel that no on will understand what we feel. That was when there came an angel. I would use the word angel because it was truly like he had been sent for me to guide me out. No matter what the situation I always have this angel wrenching me out of troubles and problems. When I held onto this angel that one positive sign overthrew all my negatives. It was my small little ray of hope. This small light grew to such an extent that there was brightness around me. Like it is said one sign of good is enough to take over all bad.

It is during these times that I realized that when we have to face darkness, we are not abandoned. Each one of us have an angel with us too. We are so involved in our lives and focus on the negativity that we tend to overlook that person who is willing to help us. When realization hits us, life becomes better. Communication is the key and finding that person who would listen to us is even more important.

And now what I do believe is that in future no matter how horrid things get I will always have an angel there for me. Each and every one of us also has an angel ready for us during our dark times. It can be anyone our parents, a friend and sometimes a stranger. Fight those dark times because " If winter comes, can spring be far behind? ".

Green Computing

In current times, there is technological developement taking place every minute across the world. This evolution of technology leads to our betterment and makes our life on this earth easy.  In this phase of evolution and developement, we are harming the environment. The major problem arises when old computers are being dumped without proper disposals procedures. Large amounts of electricity and heat is being consumed by various devices. The level of green house gases is going up. It is our responsibility to protect the environment. In order to do so and develop technology at the same time, the concept of green computing comes into existence.

Green computing is all about disposing computers and other parts like monitors, printers efficiently so that the environment is not affected. Like all other green activities, this promotes recyclability and biodegradability. Energy Star is an initiative started by the government. Companies like Intel, Microsoft, IBM, Dell, HP have started a project called Green Grid, to improve the resource efficiency of data centres. One other such project started by an industry is Climate Savers Computing Initiative which was started by various manufacturers to reduce the electric power consumption in PCs.

There are several approaches for green computing. One significant approach is to extend the life span of various equipments. Construction of data centres should consider environmental conditions. Softwares consume computer resources. Hence writing efficient algorithms and programs  reduce the amount of computer resources required for any given computing function. For example Algorithm changes, such as switching from a slow search algorithm to a fast search algorithm can reduce resource usage for a given task from substantial to close to zero. With concept of virtualization, a system administrator could combine several physical systems into virtual machines on one single, powerful system, thereby unplugging the original hardware and reducing power and cooling consumption.

Recycling of computers should be done. Old computers can be re-used by charity organizations. Computing supplies, such as cartridges, papers and batteries should be recycled. Teleconferencing and telepresence technologies are often implemented in green computing initiatives. The main advantage is reducing of emission of green house gases, consumption of light and heat. There are degree and post graduate programs which educate students on how to build and maintain the systems in a  environment friendly manner.

All round the world there are many ideas which are implemented in this direction. We need to do our part for protecting the environment by applying as many methods as possible. Being an inventor we should make sure that our creation doesnt harm our earth. We need to spread awareness about Green Computing for a better, healthy living and greener earth.

Mind Reading Computer

This technology is as fascinating as the name sounds. A mind reading computer is a computer that implements computational model of mind reading to infer mental states of people from their facial signals. It is a form of telepathy between a human brain and a computer.  A computer like this promises a future where all the technology around us adjusts according to our mood swings.

To develop a computer like this we need to have knowledge about body gestures, body posture and the relation between the head and the facial expressions. By analyzing movement, shape and color we can predict facial expressions like a smile or eyebrows being raised. With this basic knowledge, the system requirements are Windows with a 32MB RAM or Apple Power Mac running OS 9.2 with 16MB RAM, 16 bit color display, sound card, speakers and a CD-ROM drive.

Mind reading computer actually involves measuring the volume and oxygen level of blood around the subject’s brain using a technology called functional near-infrared spectroscopy. The user wears a futuristic headband that sends light in that spectrum into the tissues of the head where it is absorbed by active, blood filled tissues. The headband then identifies how much light was not absorbed, informing the computer gauge the metabolic demands that the brain is making. In this way we can interpret thoughts of any human being and we can travel through their minds.

A computer like this can create miracles and the scope of this technology is vast. Now, we cannot communicate to a person in coma but in the future we will be able to. We can create a wheelchair that is solely controlled by the mind, not only this, it can help space walking astronauts.

With a technology like this we would have a future where communication knows no boundaries. A world where even our thoughts are not safe and hidden.

FRIENDSHIP

Friendship is not about our happiness
Its about ur happiness
Its not about explainig
Its about understanding
Friendship is all about being together
When all the doors seemed to be closed
Sharing emotions and feelings
Not to solve a problem but
For the feeling "I AM THERE"
Its to say somethng without
The feeling the that i am hurting u
Friendship must be as deep as a ocean
And as far as a horizon
True friendship gives u
Happiness nd memories that
You vl treasure throughout ur lyf
With friends life seems to have a meaning
Not valueing friendship is like
The sunflower turning away from the sun
The indian farmer not wanting rain
Life without friends is dreadfull

TRUE FRIENDSHIP

Once there was girl named Pooja. She was very innocent. Her best friend’s name was Rani. They were childhood as well as family friends. Both were in the same school and section. They never kept secrets from each other.

It so happened that due to jealousy they split up. This caused lot of problems between them. They stopped talking to each other and never shared things. Their parents tried to solve the problem but it did not work out for the friends.

Rani at school had used bad words at Pooja at that day. So Rani had got angry on her and cycled home at full speed. She did not see the speed beaker and hit the ground hard. She could not move her leg. She cried out for help but unfortunately it was a lonely road. She suddenly saw Rani she asked her to help. Rani first pretended as if she had not heard, but feeling sorry for her helped her.

Pooja took Rani on her cycle to the near by hospital.Pooja called their parents. Before their parents came Pooja apologized to Rani. Rani accepted her apologizes. They became best friends again. Pooja helped Rani at school as Rani had got a fracture.

My Brother

My brother’s name is Abhishek,
He thinks he is cool.
He plays Harry Potter 'n' play station,
And is always in a duel.

He loves reading Tintin.
He loves watching Cartoon Network.
He keeps pleading,
To help him with his homework.

He rides his bicycle,
When we visit a park.
I like the way my brother is,
And happy I am to have brother like him.

9 GEMSTONES (Navaratnalu)

CORAL are the product of tiny living beings which settled in enormous colonies in the depths of warm seas long before our time.Corals do not necessarily have to be red, even if red is thought of as their typical colour. Corals grow in Nature in a wide range of colours from red to white and from blue and brown to black. The most popular are the red hues such as pale pink or salmon, all the way out to a deep dark red. Black corals and gold corals are very much in fashion, whilst the blue ones are extremely rare.

GARNET are available in a wide variety of colors spanning the entire spectrum. The rarest of these is the blue garnet, discovered in the late 1990s in Bekily, Madagascar. It is also found in some parts of the United States, Russia and Turkey. In daylight, their color ranges from shades of green, beige, brown, gray, and blue, but in incandescent light, they appear a reddish or purplish/pink color. Because of their color changing quality.

CAT'S EYE is found in many colours. Cats eye has white lines over it and looks similar to the eye of a cat. Cat's eye gemstone is found in south India, Ceylon, Brazil, China and many other countries. Cat's eye is found in yellow, black, dark or smoky-green, and white. Cat's-eye shines like the eye of a cat in darkness, but it does not shine in total darkness. Fine cat's eyes should be of a distinctive colour and be as transparent as possible. The most popular ones are those of a beautiful honey yellow and those with fine green tones.
SAPPHIRE Blue is the most popular color for sapphire but sapphires can be found in nearly every imaginable color. These stones are called "fancy sapphires"and come in shades of purple and black."Royal blue" is the typical color of Burmese sapphire from Mogok it is slightly violetish blue. Most of the sapphires currently in the market are coming from Madagascar and Sri Lanka but Thailand(Kanchanaburi), Cambodia (Pailin), Australia and China are also important producing areas.

RUBY is the red variety of the mineral corundum, one of the hardest minerals on Earth. The most important thing about this precious stone is its colour. It was not for no reason that the name 'ruby' was derived from the Latin word 'rubens', meaning 'red'. The red of the ruby is incomparable: warm and fiery. Two magical elements are associated with the symbolism of this colour: fire and blood, implying warmth and life for mankind.

EMERALD are fascinating gemstones. They have the most beautiful, most intense and most radiant green that can possibly be imagined emerald green. Fine emeralds are even more valuable than diamonds. The name emerald comes from the Greek 'smaragdos' via the Old French 'esmeralde', and really just means 'green gemstone'. The green of the emerald is the colour of life and of the springtime, which comes round again and again. But it has also, for centuries, been the colour of beauty and of constant love. The fascination exuded by a fine emerald is simply unique.

PEARLS
are organic gems, created when an oyster covers a foreign object with beautiful layers of nacre. Today, pearls are cultured by Man. Fine pearls do not have any flaws or spots in the nacre: it has an even, smooth texture. Other factors which affect value are the regularity of the shape, size, and colour: rose tints are the most favoured. Freshwater pearls are cultured in mussels, mostly in China. Cultured and natural pearls will feel slightly rough, like fine sandpaper, because of the texture of natural nacre.
TOPAZ It is a fluorine aluminium silicate and comes in yellow, yellow-brown, honey-yellow, flax, brown, green, blue, light blue, red and pink ... and sometimes it has no colour at all. The colour in which the topaz is most commonly found is yellow, and that is the colour in which it occurs in one of the major German gemstone rocks, the Schneckenstein (a topaz-bearing rock said to resemble a snail) in Saxony. It cannot be proved conclusively whether the name of the topaz comes from the Sanskrit or the Greek, though the Greek name 'topazos' means 'green gemstone'

DIAMOND Fancy coloured diamonds are not a mass-market product such as those which are advertised everywhere and sold by numbers. They have more personality than that. Fancy coloured diamonds are almost as much fun as coloured gemstones! Like coloured gemstones, each one is different. They come in fabulously expensive pale pinks and blues, pale to bright yellows, oranges, greens, and all those brown colours that are now given names like cognac and champagne.

Self-Discipline Is The Most Important Thing For Success

. Self-discipline is being punctual and responsible
· Self-discipline is self-control and self-restraint
· Self-discipline is self-reliance and independence

First it is important to set goals. Then applying all the above characteristics of self–discipline, the goals can be achieved.

History has ample examples of people who have achieved great goals through self discipline. The greatest among them is our own - Mahatma Gandhi.

All the characteristics of self-discipline are evident and demonstrated in various successful movements during Indian Freedom Struggle. Gandhiji’s goal was “Freedom to India and Indians”. The ways he selected were “Satyagraha” and “Non Violence” which were Unique and Legendary. He has preached and followed all the above characteristics of self-discipline in going thru the path of achieving his goal.

Gandhiji in one of his books wrote about punctuality. For one of the meeting Gandhiji was present 5 minutes before 9 AM in the hall. No one was there. However exactly at 9 AM the hall was full. Being very inspired by this he made punctuality a very integral part of his life.

Self control is the driving force of “Satyagraha” and self-restraint is the key of “Non Violence”. The characteristics of self-reliance and independence are the center points of “Swadeshi Movement”.

“Freedom” is the result of applying the various characteristics of self-discipline during various events of freedom struggle by the vast majority of the people. A person can never learn self-discipline by force. He can only learn it by believing in it, practicing and experiencing it.

Hence the statement “Self Discipline is the most important ingredient to success” is very true and is the single most important thing in achieving success.

NOFA FARM

Nofa Farm was more beautiful than we imagined it to be. We took one and a half hour to reach there. My friend's father had booked a cottage there. The cottage was quiet big. As it was lunch time all the aunties arranged the food they had brought. We knew they would take lots of time to arrange it so we went outside to play catcher-catcher. After an hour we were called for lunch. We finished our lunch and we went to see the whole place. The place was surrounded by greenery. When we came back we saw a pick-up parked before our gate. Our parents came out of the cottage and told us that we were going to see horses. All the children sat in the pick-up. As we started a horse as dark as coal passed by. Two of my friends touched it. As I tried to touch it the horse leapt into the field. We stopped a place finally. There was a building there which was open. So, my friends and I went in. As soon as we entered, a bad smell touched our noses. We closed our noses and moved forward. There were many cages. In the first cage, there was a white horse. It was very beautiful. In the second cage, there were two brown ponies. In different cages there were different horses. It was truly like a paradise of horses leaving the smell aside. We climbed into the pick-up and went further. There were wooden houses as wewent by. The pick-up came to halt. The houses were very small from outside but from inside it was like never ending as we kept walking. We came out of a small door and asked a man how was the house so big inside. He said that all the houses were connected. We asked him what type of houses they were. He said there were building houses like the ones in A frica. We took a look around and it was becoming dark so we sat in the pick-up at went back to the cottage. We packed our things back in the car and came back to Riyadh.
